QuietBrowse is a browser extension that blocks ads and trackers, applies cosmetic filters, and offers optional security-related features (phishing warnings, download filename checks, password clipboard protection). It is not antivirus software and is not affiliated with Microsoft Defender, Windows Defender, or any other security product.
The extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that:
Phishing warnings use local heuristics (lookalike domains, risky TLDs, unencrypted login forms, etc.). They can produce false positives and false negatives. Always verify sites yourself before entering passwords or payment details.
Download guard inspects file names and extensions only. It does not scan file contents for malware. Keep a real antivirus program enabled.
Trust scores in the popup are informational estimates, not security certifications.
QuietBrowse uses community-maintained filter lists (EasyList, EasyPrivacy). We do not control those lists. List maintainers and site owners may change behavior at any time.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developers of QuietBrowse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising from your use of the extension — including undetected phishing, malware downloads, or site breakage.
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
You may stop using QuietBrowse at any time by uninstalling the extension from your browser.
